chilliwack
where the bride & groom call home!
So you're invited to a wedding in Chilliwack...
...and you've heard the news that you'll be left to your own devices for 2.5 hours between the ceremony & reception. What are you supposed to do with yourself?
Happily for you, the bride & groom have put together some suggestions below.
1. The Brews
Did you know that Chilliwack has an incredible selection of local craft breweries?
The bride and groom frequent them often... in fact, Laken even works at one of them!

For those that partake in the delights of craft beer, please consider participating in:

Visit two breweries, try a beer at each, tell us what you think, and enter to win a prize at the reception!
More details will be shared on the wedding day.
2. The Eats
If you know Andrew & Laken, you know we love to eat!
If you're looking to grab a small afternoon bite to eat (and maybe a drink to go with) below are our suggestions of local restaurants we love to support.
-
Any of the breweries listed above have excellent food options to go with the excellent beers (Farmhouse's pizza takes the gold medal for us - A+L's fave is the Chook!)
-
The Offy Bistro (downtown Chilliwack)
-
Modern eclectic vibes, excellent cocktails (classics and many fun new things to try)
-
-
Bow & Stern Chilliwack (downtown Chilliwack)
-
Known for their seafood, can't go wrong with anything on the menu, we love the salmon gravlax appie & the red sangria
-
-
Hugo's Mexican (we prefer the downtown Chilliwack District 1881 location)
-
Everything on the menu is great, you get complementary chips & salsa, we recommend getting a margarita flight to get to try a few things
-
-
Fortitude Wine Bar (downtown Chilliwack)
-
Excellent wine selection (lots of BC!) and knowledgeable staff
-
-
Lakeside Beach Club (Cultus Lake area)
-
Delish food & drinks - we recommend packing your patience to tangle with summer long weekend Cultus Lake traffic & booking a reservation if you can
-
3. The Fun Stuff
Looking for something that's more of an experience than chilling at a restaurant?
-
Grab an ice cream at Banter & chill on a bench by the Vedder River
-
Laken's recommendation is the Scout Mint Cookie flavour, while Andrew's is the Salted Caramel ... or get a flight and try 4 different things - you really can't go wrong!
-
-
Go for a walk along the Rotary Trail at Vedder Park
-
Fun fact: Andrew proposed to Laken on a walk along this trail, down on the beach by the gorgeous, rushing river... and walks down this trail are still nearly a weekly occurrence for us!
-
-
Enjoy the various golfing delights at Cultus Lake Golf Club
-
They offer a putting course with putters for rent, and TopTracer driving range with private bays and food + drink options (for the driving range, we recommend booking in advance if you can)
-
-
Take a walk around District 1881 in downtown Chilliwack
-
The District itself is beautiful (some call it the "Little Europe of the Fraser Valley"... if that title means anything to you!) and there are many restaurants & shops to explore
-
We recommend enjoying a coffee from Smoking Gun or a smoothie from Sol Smoothie Bar while you stroll
-
