So you're invited to our special day - yay! - and you've got some questions.
Luckily for you the bride & groom have compiled everything you need to know below!
What can I expect on the day?
The ceremony will take place at 3:30pm outside on the grass behind the hall. There will be a tent overhead if it decides to rain on us. Please dress appropriately for the outside temperature that day. Due to the grass, guests who choose to wear high heels might want to avoid spiked heels, and go for block heels instead.
There will be a 2.5 hour break between the ceremony and the reception, and we leave it up to you to fill that time however you wish. Please see the page marked “Chilliwack” to see Drew & Laken’s suggestions of how to make the most of this time in the city we call home!
The reception will be back at the hall for a start time of 6:30pm. You can expect an untraditional reception with no assigned seating, passed appetizers instead of a sit-down dinner, and no stuffy speeches. Be ready to have fun, relax, and tear it up on the dancefloor!
What should I wear?
The suggested dress code is formal, but comfortable.
What’s the deal with the bar?
The bar will be an open bar (cheers!) but we suggest that guests bring along some cash to tip the bartenders to say thanks for their hard & important work!
There will be a vast selection of drinks: non-alcoholic options, wine, beer, hard liquor, and some fun surprises! We ask that no guests bring in outside liquor. Trust us, we will have everything you could need and want available for you!
Where do I park?
There is ample onsite parking to accommodate everyone’s vehicles. There is a large parking lot out front of the hall, and an overflow lot around the right side. Please refrain from parking on Community Street to respect the hall’s neighbours.
Can I leave my car at the hall overnight?
You can leave a vehicle in the parking lot overnight, but please note:
a) There is no camping in the lot overnight. I.e.: no campers or RVs and no sleeping in your car in the parking lot.
b) The hall is situated next to a public park and the lot has no night time security or locking gate - leave your car at your own risk!
c) You must return on Sunday morning before noon to retrieve your car, as our group needs to have completely vacated the space by this time.
Can I bring my kids?
While we adore your children, this is an adults-only wedding. Please restrict attendance to the adults who are listed on the envelope of your invitation. We hope you will be able to find a babysitter and enjoy a parents night out!
The only exception is for babies of nursing mothers (if you & your baby fit in this category, feel free to reach out to the bride & groom to confirm).
Do you have a gift registry?
If you feel inclined to bring a gift, we would greatly appreciate monetary contributions towards our honeymoon and the purchase of our first home together. Please refrain from bringing boxed gifts.
